Editorial Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
This policy explains how Home Notes guides are created and maintained, so you can judge how much to trust what you read.
1. Original, human-written content
Every guide is planned by our editorial team around a real search or reading need. Writers research the topic, choose terms that carry a real second meaning, write each line, and read it aloud. Lines that need explaining are rewritten or removed.
We compare each page against the rest of the site to avoid duplicates, and we do not copy lists from other websites.
2. Accuracy checks
Facts, definitions and subject references are checked before publication. For subjects such as math and science we verify that a joke does not teach a wrong idea. For sports and music we confirm that terms are used correctly.
Glossaries on our pages use plain-English definitions written for general readers, and entity links point to reputable reference sources.
3. Family friendly standard
- No innuendo, slurs, or mature references.
- No jokes that mock a person's body, identity, or struggles.
- No real people's names, injuries or personal details used for humor.
- Trademarked brands, characters and song or book text are not copied or quoted.
4. Images and credits
Photos on this site come from free stock photo platforms such as Unsplash, whose license allows free use. Each image has a caption and a link to its source page. Alt text describes what the image shows so it is useful to screen reader users.
5. Updates and corrections
We review each guide at least twice a year, add new material and refresh answers. The review date on each page shows the latest update. If you find a mistake, tell us at the Contact page. We correct confirmed errors promptly and update the review date.
6. Independence and advertising
Our editorial decisions are independent. We do not sell sponsored posts or paid links. If we ever add advertising or affiliate links, we will label them clearly and update this policy first.
7. Use of AI tools
Our editors may use software tools for drafting support, spell checking, formatting and technical tasks such as image resizing. Every published line is reviewed and approved by a human editor who is accountable for its quality and accuracy.
